As I am obsessed with England I figured I might as well write about it. So because of my obsession I like to use British-english words sometimes, so I have made a list of some of the more common and funny British words to share with you, just because...well...because. ; )
Brillopads: is a type of wire scrubbing brush, but it is used as the word "amazing" is used here; "it was brillopads" does not mean you am saying "It was a sort of wire pad that you clean with" you mean "It was fab and groovy"
Bugger(ation): A swear word, but not a real swear word, it is like the word "dang"; "Oh bugger!"
Chuddering: Quite simply whining.
Gadzooks: Like saying "Oh my God".
GBH: "Grievous Bodily Harm".
Gob: Short for "mouth".
Goosegog: A very curious, but unwanted (or needed) onlooker.
On my Jacksie: It means "on my own".
Jimjams: Pajamas. Also pygmies or jammies.
Knickers: Underwear.
Nub: The gist of whatever you are talking about, the heart of the matter.
Nuddy pants: Nude pants, like being naked. Means to be naked.
Rucky: Short for rucksack, a rucksack is a backpack, so therefore a "rucky" is a backpack.
Titches: A titch is a small person. Titches is the plural of titch.
Tosser: A special kind of prat. The other way of putting this is "wanker" or "monkey spanker".
Strop: To sulk visably.
Sorted: To fix a problem, is to "sort" it.
Smashing: Smashing = terrific.
Shirty: Getting bad tempered.
Pants: Pants is another way to say "total crap" except you would say "total pants" as in "that show last night was total pants".
Yup so... I had fun making this list. I'm pretty sure my favorite word on this list is "pants", don't ask me why because I do not know... haha.
Happy November!
